The Kansas State Council of SHRM, Inc. (KSSHRM) is the Kansas state affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). A non-profit, volunteer-led organization, our primary objective is to support the mission and initiatives of SHRM. We have a long and proud history of supporting the HR Professionals providing access to key tools and resources to support your day to day role.

There are 11 Kansas SHRM affiliated chapters whose chapter presidents sit on the Council. The state is divided into four geographic districts with district directors who provide support to the chapters in their region.

The Kansas State Council of SHRM’s HR Registered Apprenticeship Program “HR – RAP” was awarded the third annual SHRM Workplace Impact Award during the Nov. 17 SHRM Volunteer Business Leaders Meeting in Washington D.C. The award is for their efforts to address challenges currently impacting the world of work and to promote apprenticeships in the human resource profession within Kansas.
TOPEKA, KANSAS, 11/22/2022 — Today, SHRM (the Society for Human Resource Management) awarded The Kansas State Council of SHRM (KS SHRM) the 2022 SHRM Pinnacle Award in recognition of its high achievements advancing the profession of human resources.
The Pinnacle Award is the most prestigious honor SHRM state councils and chapters can receive. Created in 1991, it recognizes innovative projects created and implemented by SHRM affiliates. KS SHRM was one of 12 human resource organizations—out of more than 600 —from across the country to win the award in 2022. READ MORE…
KS SHRM’s Human Resources Registered Apprenticeship Program (HR RAP) is offered through the SHRM Foundation to help emerging HR professionals. While apprenticeship is a centuries old, tried-and-true way to learn a trade, it’s a relatively new way for business and management professionals to earn the credentials they need to launch their career.
Cassie Gilmore is KS SHRM’s Apprenticeship Navigator and her role is to promote the HR RAP program. Cassie is a seasoned HR professional with nearly 20 years experience. Cassie is known for her innovative thinking, her empathetic style, and her ability to build relationships. Over the course of Cassie’s career, she has worked in multiple industries including retail grocery, higher education, corporate wellness, manufacturing and logistics. Cassie recently completed her term as President of Jayhawk SHRM – where she was the first consecutive two-term president. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Kansas SHRM Conference Speaker Committee.
Cassie holds an MLA from Baker University, specializing in Conflict Negotiation and Dispute Resolution, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Kansas. Cassie is a Certified Executive Level SHRM Professional and has earned the SHRM-SCP designation.
