Who We Are

74 years of service to
HR Professionals

The Kansas State Council of SHRM, Inc. (KSSHRM) is the Kansas state affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). A non-profit, volunteer-led organization, our primary objective is to support the mission and initiatives of SHRM. We have a long and proud history of supporting the HR Professionals providing access to key tools and resources to support your day to day role.

Our primary objective is to support the mission and initiatives of SHRM through education. We coordinate professional development efforts, and serve as the conduit for communication among SHRM, chapters, and at-large members.

There are 11 Kansas SHRM affiliated chapters whose chapter presidents sit on the Council. The state is divided into four geographic districts with district directors who provide support to the chapters in their region.

Core leadership directors represent key areas of focus either for the HR profession or within the association. Some of those areas include:

The Kansas State Council of SHRM’s HR Registered Apprenticeship Program “HR – RAP” was awarded the third annual SHRM Workplace Impact Award during the Nov. 17 SHRM Volunteer Business Leaders Meeting in Washington D.C. The award is for their efforts to address challenges currently impacting the world of work and to promote apprenticeships in the human resource profession within Kansas.

TOPEKA, KANSAS, 11/22/2022 — Today, SHRM (the Society for Human Resource Management) awarded The Kansas State Council of SHRM (KS SHRM) the 2022 SHRM Pinnacle Award in recognition of its high achievements advancing the profession of human resources.

The Pinnacle Award is the most prestigious honor SHRM state councils and chapters can receive. Created in 1991, it recognizes innovative projects created and implemented by SHRM affiliates. KS SHRM was one of 12 human resource organizations—out of more than 600 —from across the country to win the award in 2022. READ MORE…

KS SHRM’s Human Resources Registered Apprenticeship Program (HR RAP) is offered through the SHRM Foundation to help emerging HR professionals. While apprenticeship is a centuries old, tried-and-true way to learn a trade, it’s a relatively new way for business and management professionals to earn the credentials they need to launch their career.

If you are an employer or an organization who would like more information about KS SHRM’s HR RAP program or would like to begin the registration process, please connect with KS SHRM via email at apprenticeship@ksshrm.com to discuss how to get started.
