JOB POSTING BEST PRACTICES

  • Be forthright – job seekers are savvy these days and quickly catch on to keyword-heavy, generic phrasing. The more accurate and specific the description is, the more likely you are to weed out unqualified or uninterested candidates.
  • Be specific/don’t be vague or generic – it’s an easy way to waste everyone’s time by not listing pay parameters, specific schedule requirements, or necessary skills/qualifications.
  • Don’t get hung up on “nice to have” skills and experience – only require what is absolutely necessary to be successful from day one.
  • Be realistic with skills and experience requirements – someone with 2 years’ experience might be a total rockstar that you miss out on if your job listing says you require 5.
  • Make sure the skills and experience align with the pay being offered – if you want someone with 10+ years’ experience, you must be willing to pay for 10+ years’ experience.
  • Showcase why your company is a great place to work.
  • Be mindful of length/wordiness – job seekers won’t spend ten minutes reading paragraphs of text, be as specific as possible in the most concise way possible.

How To Post A Job

How to Submit a Job Posting

Follow these steps to create and submit your job listing:

  1. Choose Your Package
Choose One Job Listing to purchase a new posting.
  2. Enter Your Job Information
Complete the job listing form with the position details and any required information.
  3. Click Preview
When your listing is ready to submit, click Preview at the bottom of the form.

Important: Do not click Save Draft if you are ready to submit your job. Save Draft saves your work so you can return and finish it later—it does not submit the job for posting.

  4. Review Your Listing
Review the job posting to make sure everything is correct. Make any necessary changes before continuing.
  5. Complete Payment
Continue to checkout and complete payment for your job listing. If you are using a previously purchased package, no additional payment may be required.
  6. Submit Your Job
Once the submission process is complete, your job will be sent for posting/approval.

Not ready to submit?
Choose Save Draft to save your progress. You can return to your account later, open the draft, finish your listing, and then use Preview to continue the submission process.
