Title: HR Apprenticeship Navigator
Reports to: Director, Kansas SHRM
Status: Part Time/Contract
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Apprenticeship Navigator is responsible for coordinating strategies, partnerships, and programs that create, expand, and strengthen opportunities for human resources (HR) apprenticeships in diverse industries throughout the state of Kansas. The HR Apprenticeship Navigator will work in close collaboration with the Kansas SHRM Executive Council (KSSHRM EC), the KSSHRM Apprenticeship Liaison, and state chapter designees to grow HR apprenticeships across Kansas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops a strategy to meet the HR apprenticeship needs of Kansas businesses and to build the HR apprenticeship pipeline in Kansas
- Identifies creative ways to increase and maximize the apprenticeship pipeline by increasing the number of employers with active HR apprenticeship programs
- Promotes outreach efforts of Kansas state chapters, utilizing state chapter referrals and providing support as needed
- Fields inquiries from employers seeking to partner on HR apprenticeship opportunities
- Researches and identifies potential employers who may benefit from participating in the HR apprenticeship program; coordinates and facilitates meetings with these employers to explore and develop new HR apprenticeship programs
- Works closely with employers in the creation of new HR apprenticeships and subsequent implementation
- Works closely with apprenticeship partners, including SHRM Foundation, local KSSHRM Chapters, Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC), local Chambers of Commerce, and other business organizations, to make connections and ensure processes such as establishing memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and mapping out support services are met
- Works closely with SHRM Foundation, KSSHRM, and the KDOC Office of Internships and Apprenticeships to ensure all aspects of HR apprenticeships in Kansas are executed in accordance with all guidelines and that all reporting and outcome targets are met
- Supports employers, sponsors, and other key partners with challenges encountered with the HR apprenticeship program, remediates these challenges, and identifies and implements proactive solutions
- Collects, analyzes, and reports program and participant data per requirements of the MOU with KDOC and SHRM Foundation
- Monitors progress on program growth to ensure desired goals and results are achieved
- Meets established goals for the position
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
10 years or more of related experience demonstrating the following:
- Program development and management experience working with diverse stakeholders
- Proven track record of recruitment, business to business sales and lead generation, particularly in HR
- Ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with apprenticeship programs or other workforce development initiatives a plus
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred

Individuals in this position must be able to perform essential functions and physical demands within these documented working conditions with or without reasonable accommodation:
This is a contract and remote position. There is frequent use of the telephone, computer and other office equipment associated with this position, as well as a large amount of face-to-face interaction with industry partners and potential industry partners. Individuals in this position are typically seated at their personal desk for the majority of the day. This position will require travel to different locations across the state at times, which may result in overnight stays.
The individual responsible for this role must be able to perform job functions with indirect supervision and work effectively independently. The individual must be capable of working harmoniously with diverse personalities.
